Year 12. That word makes every muscule in my body tense like a personal trainers ass checks!
i tell ya its bloody rediculous how much pressure year 12 brings along, the teachers act like its the be all and end all of your life when its not and they seem to be living in this fantasy world where their subject is the only subject that a student is doing. now times that buy a minimum of 5 and you've got one depressed, overworked, stress out 17 year old. i read somewhere that nowadays an 8 year old is more intelligent than our grandparents every were in their entire lifetime, unless of course your grandparent is the albert einstein! but what i want to know is why they do this to us! my school councillor describes the HSC as a form of child labour. i mean you'd have to be a hermit crab not to have heard of the increase suicide rates during the time of the HSC, some can handle it no problem but the whole concept of year 12 and the HSC is totally wrong in my opinion. why can't we have all units of stuff we actually want to do? i have 4 units that i need / want to do and the rest i am just doing because i have to because there isn't another extension course of those subjects out there! im sure this is the same for thousands of other students doing the HSC is insane! yes we can be lazy but newsflash you cant take a kid who has been swimming with floaties on all their life and throw them in the deep end and expect them to swim! these christmas holidays i am piled up to my ears in work and no thats not hyperbole because i am litterally serious 6 books to read, 5 texts books to summarise etc etc etc etcetce ahhhhh i also am trying to save up to support myself when i leave for uni and i am in a play which has a fair few days of rehearsals so holidays are turning into worse than school, i am not sure but i think i have gotten more work on the holidays than i have the entire last term! so yeah year 12 makes my muscules tense just a little bit...how are you feeling now??
